Rodger Northouse is the leader and president of Northouse Landscape Company (NLC). His philosophy of enhancing the lives of both clients and employees alike can be seen throughout NLC, via the comprehensive, professional quality landscapes that are produced in a positive, comfortable atmosphere.

Rodger began enhancing his life long passion for landscapes by studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In 1989, while at the university, Rodger began NLC for the purpose of paying for his schooling. In May of 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Landscape Architecture, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at UW-Madison. Upon graduation, Rodger moved back to the Milwaukee area to begin practicing landscape architecture full time while working to establish NLC as the leader in landscape design, maintenance and contracting that it has become.

Rodger is formally recognized as a leader in the landscape industry having been cited in various publications and having received formal recognition for his work. Rodger continues to bring his passion for the "green industry" and landscape architecture into every part of Northouse Landscape Company and every design he provides to each of his clients.

Rodger Northouse

Chad Olson’s primary focus within NLC is to attend to clients who have a strong desire to develop a signature landscape, employing inspired design, classical elements and finer materials at a competitive price. Chad’s talent for spatial design is second to none and has been developed through his practice of landscape architecture for more than a decade. His experience has provided him with the knowledge and understanding to develop comprehensive landscape environments that reflect the nature of the home and the desires of the homeowner, which culminate into the best possible landscape.

Chad’s design approach is rooted in his formal education. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies, as well as a minor in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee (1999). This education, combined with Chad’s natural creativity and love of the outdoors, has made him a success in the landscape industry.

Many of Chad’s designs have been recognized by the Wisconsin Landscape Contractor’s Association with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. Several of his Gold winning projects have been featured in both local and national publications, held as prime examples of expertly developed environments.

Chad is originally from the LaCrosse area, having moved to Milwaukee in 1995 to study architecture. He currently resides in the North Shore of Milwaukee with his son, surrounded by many of the fine landscapes he has created.

Chad Olson

Ryan Risse is an up and coming industry talent who recognized his bond with the earth as a child spending time in the garden with his parents. Since those early days, Ryan has continued to nurture his passion for the land, which has led him to a very promising future within the "green industry."

Ryan’s career with NLC began with an internship while studying at the University of WisconsinPlatteville. In 2006, Ryan graduated from UW - Platteville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture with an emphasis in Landscape Management. After graduation, Ryan explored the job market, but soon found that the dynamic and philosophy offered by Northouse Landscape were not to be matched by its competitors. Soon after this discovery, Ryan joined NLC in a full time capacity with a complete embrace of the vision and future that exists within our organization.

Ryan has quickly risen to his current position of Production Manager, with credit going to his valuable combination of management skills, strong intellect, respect for others, incredible drive and love of the industry. He has proven himself to be a vital part of our organization and instrumental in the satisfaction of our clients with responsibilities ranging from project coordination in the office to actual service in the field. His ability to smoothly and seamlessly interact with clients, employees and vendors alike, greatly enhances the overall NLC experience.
